Customer care performance scores are considerably higher among wireless customers with additional plan features, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 “Wireless Customer Care Performance Study(SM), Volume 1.”

The Consumer Electronics Association has announced that the 2011 CES iLounge Pavilion will feature the largest display of iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Mac related products and services in the shows history. The iLounge Pavilion was a new addition to this year’s exhibition, with more than 100 companies. For next year’s show, the Pavilion will feature 50,000 square feet of floor space with companies such as iSkin, Mophie, and Scosche displaying new products. The 2011 show will take place in Las Vegas from January 6th to 9th….


Remo Software has introduced a new data-restoration application, Remo Recover. The program is available as a Media or Pro edition, each with tools for recovering lost data from computers and external storage devices. The apps also support data retrieval from iPods, allowing users to send the restored files to various devices. The Media edition provides a basic set of tools for recovering photo, video and music files, including RAW photos….


Here’s another publisher publicly throwing its weight behind Apple–and against Amazon–in the e-book pricing war. Hachette Book Group says it will pursue the “agency model” for pricing e-books: It sets retail prices and the retailer gets a 30 percent cut. In more practical terms, this means Hachette’s titles will be getting more expensive, and the rest of the industry will be following suit.

HDMI Licensing, the agent responsible for licensing the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) specification, has announced the features that will be incorporated in the upcoming HDMI 1.4 specification.

Creaceed has released a new beta version of Elasty HD, its motion tracking and special effects application that was previously labeled Magnet 1.x. Elasty HD 2.0 is designed for video editing, with tools for distorting images and changing colors. The upgrade adds rotate, flip and cropping effects, as well as new image-stabilization technology with customizable levels of strength.
